It’s that time of year again, when many people are invited to parties with their near and dear, or absolute strangers, to countdown to midnight and celebrate the coming of the new year. If aliens from a distant galaxy arrived at midnight on a particular New Year’s Eve, they would probably believe they were watching a global comedy channel because of the fascination these mere humans dressed up in all sorts have at a clock ticking away, whilst getting wasted and trying their luck with anyone who is accepting. Who are we? Where is here? Why we are here at all? Who is the owner of this blog? All of these questions are good ones. Also this question: why do we really need to make a group blog? Are we here only to be here together? Do we want to make a circle of writers? Maybe there are a thousand questions in your mind. I tell you, all of your questions are good ones for me.
While watching
It was in a dark, cold laboratory where the idea of this blog was born. Alright this is not exactly a rerun of Einstein, so we will scratch that imaginary scene. This blog was really born from our own bright hearts. We’ve visited many youth websites and felt there was a lack of perspective from Muslims, Muslim youth and Muslim women (more on that in Shahrzad’s next post). We would talk about this lack, but it was today when we felt we should really do something about it.
