In Islam, a perfect human is considered as an empowered muslim. Being a perfect human is not something in dreams or a fantasy. There are many examples in the history, who are known as perfect persons. Based on Islamic thoughts, Jesus, Moses, Abraham and Muhammad and all other prophets are normal persons like us, but they worked on themselves, reached to high state of faith and beliefs and understanding of the world and beyond.

Asalaamu alikum wa rahmatullah,
Jazak’allah khair for sharing this post. The style actually reminded me of an excellent book I know and would recommend- “The ideal Muslim” by Muhammad Ali Al-Hashimi (“The ideal Muslimah” it’s sister book is also available).
Nonetheless, other characteristics I’d like to add is something which compliments point number four.
S/he remembers the sadaqah due on every joint, every day- like saying a good word, removing an obstacle from the road or any other act of kindness. The are small, easy and benefit all- a Muslim is some one is benefits all- someone you really would miss if they weren’t around.
Wa salaamu alikum wa rahmatullah
Dont be sad

Masha’Allah excellent points.
I will add the following:
- When people are in distress she/he does discriminate whether they are Muslims or not and helps all people regardless of their faith.

An excellent list, dear Sister:
May I add another list from an old Darvish post, called the Adab of the Sufi Path.
http://darvish.wordpress.com/2006/06/14/the-adab-of-the-sufi-path/
May Allah bless us all and guide us on the straight path of the heart, where all perfection resides.
Ameen.
Ya Haqq!

Amina I hope you meant “she/he does NOT discriminate….”? :p
Shahrzad this is excellent piece of advice. I think you and other s have covered most of the points.
Also, I don’t think as human beings we can be perfect like the Prophets who were divinely guided , we will always be imperfect, prone to error and will always make mistakes. SO we shouldn’t end up being too hard on ourselves and think because we make mistakes or don’t have the above character we are not empowered. InshaAllah we should all strive to become the best Muslims, starting from ourselves and the tips above and those to follow will serve as great start point.

This is great! Everyone is welcome to add their points too and we can even compile your lists and add it to our own!

Thanks for helping me learn something about Islam. Within Christianity, we do not believe a person can become perfect in this life. Yet, in spite of our imperfections, God loves us and, through Christ, forgives us when we fail.
Thanks again for helping me understand your faith better.
